Second UK health worker monitored for Ebola

A second UK military healthcare worker has been flown to England following "likely exposure" to the Ebola virus via a needle-stick injury in Sierra Leone.

The patient is being monitored at London's Royal Free Hospital and does not currently have a diagnosis or symptoms of the virus.

Public Health England says there is no risk to the general public.

The patient will be watched for 21 days to see if they develop Ebola.

Another military health worker was sent to the UK on Saturday following a similar incident and is also being observed at the hospital.

Ebola crisis: First major vaccine trials in Liberia

The first large-scale trials of two experimental vaccines against Ebola have begun in Liberia.

The potentially preventative medicines were taken under strict security to a secret location in the West African country.

Scientists aim to immunise 30,000 volunteers, including front-line health workers.More than 8,500 people have died in the Ebola outbreak, the vast majority in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The total number of reported cases is more than 22,000. In Liberia alone, more than 3,600 people have died from the disease.

Man Utd sign rookie Bolton defender

Manchester United have signed Bolton defender Andy Kellett on loan until the end of the season, with Saidy Janko moving the other way.

Kellett, 21, has only made four senior appearances for Bolton and spent three months on loan at League Two Plymouth Argyle earlier this season.

United announced the signing(external) after Monday's 23:00 GMT transfer deadline.

Last week defender Sadiq El Fitouri, 20, joined United from Evo-Stik First Division Salford City.

Man Utd's Fletcher joins West Brom

West Brom have signed Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher on a free transfer from Manchester United.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at The Hawthorns with a 12-month option.

West Ham were also interested in signing Fletcher, but a move to Upton Park broke downlast weekend.

Fletcher made 342 appearances for United but started only five times for the club after Louis van Gaal took over as manager in the summer.

He had been at Old Trafford since he was a schoolboy and helped the Red Devils win the Premier League title five times.

Spurs sign £5m Alli from MK Dons

Tottenham have signed MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli on a five-and-a-half-year deal for an initial £5m fee.

The 18-year-old will be loaned back to the League One side for the rest of the season as part of the deal.

Spurs have also released defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto from his contract, which was set to expire in June.

England Under-19 international Alli, who was also wanted by Newcastle United, has scored 12 goals in 25 league games for MK Dons this season.

Chelsea sign £23.3m winger Cuadrado

Chelsea have signed Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado for an initial fee of £23.3m, with Mohamed Salah going the other way on loan.

Cuadrado has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract for a fee which could rise to £26.8m.

The 26-year-old, who impressed for Colombia at the World Cup, joined Chelsea after fellow winger Andre Schurrle moved to Wolfsburg for £22m.

Salah, 22, moves to Serie A side Fiorentina until the end of the season.
